About the College:
The College of Agriculture was first college of Banda University of Agriculture & Technology, Banda. Since then, the college has been progressively gaining new dimensions in all the spheres be it building, good infrastructures, research facilities, faculty, research farms, skill enhancement units, class rooms, laboratories etc. The undergraduate degree programme was initiated in year 2011. The Post Graduate programmes in different departments of the College were started in 2018-19 and Ph. D. programmes in different department were started in 2020-21. Presently, college is offering under graduate degree programme B. Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, Master degree (M.Sc. Ag.) in eight and Doctoral degree in six disciplines. The college is having the defined objective of imparting quality education, conducting research and performs outreach activities.
Vision:
- To emerge as a global centre of excellence in teaching, research and extension in agriculture and allied sciences in the country to ensure sustained healthy food, nutrition and livelihood security.
Mission:
- The university is committed to the cause of Indian agriculture through its quality teaching, demand-driven and location-specific research and extension programmes in the light of dynamism of socio-economic and agro ecological conditions, management perceptions, international trade scenarios and government policies.
Objectives:
The college focuses its strategy on synergizing education and strengthening problem-specific research relevant to the region and help building innovative extension systems for sustainable management of natural resources, sustainable horticultural production and overall improvement of rural livelihoods.
Message From Dean:
Greetings from the Dean, College of Agriculture, Banda University of Agriculture & Technology Banda. CoA is a premier educational institution of the BUAT with the exemplary mission to nurture young minds who are equipped to achieve success in a rapidly changing, deeply inter-connected world and expertise in skills of domain. CoA was established in 2010 and UG was started in 2011 while, post-graduation and Ph.D were started in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Presently, college are offering 15 programmes including 01 UG, 08 PG and 06 Ph.D. CoA is working for imparting quality agricultural education and research on regional priorities as imperative to augmenting India’s growth as a modern nation and Viksit Bharat. CoA have also completed the third cycle of the ICAR accreditation process and been awarded with good grade. We have continued to hold numerous workshops and sessions for upscaling of skills of students and farming community. Students and faculty organized exhibitions and many programmes which highlighted various environmental and concerns about soil management and crop production. College being contributed for pulses and oilseeds research with national and international collaboration. Pass-out students pursuing higher education in prestigious university and serving in the country and abroad. College faculty also contributing to upliftment of rural economy through technological interventions. I would like to conclude by saying that CoA will strive to remain an enlightened place of learning, where we continue to push boundaries of knowledge, nurture critical enquiry, solution of regional threats, foster democratic partnerships and build an empowered community.
