About the College:
The College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences established in 2024 under the premier University Banda University of Agriculture & Technology, dedicated to fostering excellence in veterinary education, research and animal healthcare. Our College is committed to preparing human resources to address global challenges in animal health, productivity and sustainability. In order to improve the livelihood security of the millions of livestock farmers and ensure the sustainable development in Bundelkhand region, the college is dedicated to addressing the difficulties of market-driven growth momentum in the animal sector through technical assistance.
Vision:
Imparting quality education in veterinary and animal sciences to undertake need based and multidisciplinary research, innovation for better animal health and productivity and developing and dissemination of various technologies for employment generation and to improve socio-economic status of the farmers through scientific livestock farming.
Mission:
- To produce competent and technical manpower in the area of veterinary and reinforcement in animal health services through research, development and veterinary health services.
- Generation and transfer of demand and basic technologies to farmers and organizations to improve animal health and management
- Interface industry and stakeholder in the newer perspectives of open global market.
- Validate indigenous traditional knowledge on scientific basis.
Objectives:
- Imparting quality education in the field of Veterinary and Animal sciences.
- To undertake priority based fundamental and advanced research for improving animal health and productivity.
- Prepared and maintained anatomical specimens, including skeletons of domestic and wild animals, corrosion casts of visceral organs, and preserved tissue samples, to support veterinary anatomy education. Developed e-Learning modules, histology slide repositories, and visual teaching aids such as charts and models to enhance student understanding. Focused on species-specific variations, topographic anatomy, and Splanchnology for comprehensive teaching and learning
- Conservation of indigenous livestock breeds.
- Development and strengthening the marketing strategies of livestock products and its value addition.
- Transfer of technology at door step of livestock farmers/entrepreneurs to adopt scientific animal husbandry practices.
- Development of skilled human resource with professional knowledge in various veterinary and animal science domains.
- Collaboration with ICAR institutes working in animal heath and productivity, Central & State govt. agriculture and animal husbandry department functionaries, Livestock industries, and NGOs to develop resurgent, sustainable, profit oriented and market based production system for livestock, poultry and allied sectors.

- Microscopic Anatomy and Ultrastructure.
- Histology & Histopathology in Disease Diagnosis.
- Grading up of local non-descript cattle breed with superior, high genetic merit indigenous breeds.
- Livestock based farming system models for the farmers of bundelkhand region.
- To promote the utilization of manure and other by-products for improving the productivity of crops and enabling the farmers to practice organic farming.
- To enhance disease resistance through genetics, molecular research and vaccination programme.
- Development of region specific feeding strategies for optimum livestock production.
- To integrate animal, human and environmental health for sustainable development
- Development of sensor for diseases diagnosis and therapeutics.

- Participation in subject related programmes (Agroclimatic zonal kisan mela, district and block level kisan gosthis, animal competition etc.)
